8 June — First Ever Held Global Exhibitions Day

From now on, 8 June 2016 will be marked in the history as the first Global Exhibitions Day. This date has been established as a professional holiday for the people engaged in the industry upon an initiative of our compatriot Sergey Alexeyev, President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, and since this year — also President of Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). Some 30 national tradeshow associations around the world have supported this idea admitting the necessity of international cooperation for raising awareness about the value of exhibitions.

Due to the current globalization of the economic, political and cultural space, marketing and sales exhibitions as a business tool are becoming more and more important with each year. In just a few days, every specialist has a chance to form a clear understanding and correct estimate of the development trends in the whole industry at regional or international level; conduct face-to-face negotiations with partners; showcase the competitive advantages of innovative developments to potential customers, and answer any questions which may promote further development and improve the product. Such active professional activity allows to cut down the costs on promoting truly effective projects which can be accepted in specialized production and be developed commercially, or get included on city development plans.

Many exhibitions are supported by powerful national institutes and industry associations, which contributes to overcoming the administrative burden during international brands integration and domestic business development.

Over 30 Russian exhibition companies are members of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry including Expocentre, VDNH, Crocus Expo IEC, ExpoForum International, Nizhny Novgorod Fair, Kazan Fair, Kuzbass Fair, and many more.

On 8 June, all around the world specialists will be discussing measures to promote and popularize exhibition industry.
In Russia the central event on the Global Exhibitions Day will be the VI All-Russian Conference on «The Effect of Exhibition, Trade Fair and Congress Activity and Promotion of Domestic Products and Services in the Internal and International Markets». Another top-notch event — general meeting for members of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs in Moscow — will be attended by representatives of state, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, branch associations and leading entrepreneurs.

The Global Exhibitions Day was supported by the largest associations of the industry: AAXO and EXSA (South Africa), AEFI and CFI (Italy), AEO (UK), AFE (Spain), AFECA (Asia),  AFIDA (Central & South America), AMPROFEC (Mexico), AOCA (Argentina), AUMA and FAMAB (Germany), CAEM (Canada), CEFA and CENTREX (Central Europe), EEAA (Australasia), EEIA (EU), HKECIA (Hong-Kong), FAIRLINK (Sweden), IAEE and SISO (USA), IECA (Indonesia), IEIA (India), IELA (Global), IFES (Global), LECA (Lebanon), MACEOS (Malaysia), MFTA (Macao), PCEI (Poland), RUEF (Russia), TEA (Thailand), UBRAFE (Brazil) and UNIMEV (France).
