Glass Worker's Day

November 19 is the Glass Worker's professional holiday.

Glass-making industry has a very long and rich history of its development. Historians believe that the first glass articles came into use over 5000 years ago.

We could not imagine our modern life without glass. The major glass consumers are the construction and transport industries. Another big part of produced glass is used for making tableware and kitchen utensils, automobile glass, mirrors, furniture, objects of art, decorations, and etc. Glass-making industry is rapidly developing in Russia. More and more glass is used in modern architecture.

Unlike the Ukraine, in Russia this day is not an official holiday.
